We are so excited about our new outdoor play area! Not only have we doubled the size, the children now have access to a grassy area, sensory garden, a gravelled area and lots of slopes as well as the existing paved area!! A big thank you to Dalziel Management for fitting our new gates and fences during the Easter holidays! We have bought 2 new balance bikes and a trike and a member of staff has donated a balance bike too! As for the children - they absolutely love it!!
We had a very short spring term this year but we had our usual visits from Tiny Soccerstars, the children had their photos taken, which raised £73 and we ended the term with our sponsored Easter Peg Hunt from which we raised £280. Thank you to all our fantastic parents, their friends and family for helping raise such a large amount!
We also took part in the Waitrose Community Matters and raised another £290.
We have had some good news regarding extending our outdoor area so a big thank you to St John's church who have given us the green light to go ahead.
We will use the money raised during the spring term to buy some new outdoor resources for the summer term.
We had the busiest Autumn term!! Firefighter Claire came to see us as did Mark, our vicar, to talk about Harvest and William, one of our Dads who is a chef, helped make gingerbread men/reindeers with the children. We had our usual visits from Tiny Soccerstars and parents/carers came in on several occasions to help their children design Christmas cards which were then sent off and printed, helped raised funds at our Scavenger Hunt and had fun on our Craft morning making lots of Christmas decorations with their children. The children brought in tonnes of donations for Harvest and made a super large picture with all their finds from their Scavenger Hunt!! The children also worked really hard to perform a traditional Nativity and we raised more money with 100's of prizes in our Christmas raffle! We ended our term with a fabulous party where we were entertained by 'Nicky Nacky Noo', the elf, and Father Christmas who brought all the children an early Christmas present!!
Off we go to find our treasure! We found many clues along the way.
Trying to find clues is very hard work! Time for a well-earned rest!
We found one clue at the Eucalyptus tree! The children had a smell but were not impressed!!
We had fun chasing the biggest bubbles ever at the end of our morning!!
We always like to celebrate our school leavers time with us but make it fun for the other children too! This year we took them on a treasure hunt! The children found lots of clues which eventually led them to a box filled with bubbles and lollies! We performed our 'Nursery Rhyme Challenge' to the parents and were so impressed as the the children sang beautifully and shook their bells in all the right places! Our Graduation ceremony bid a fond farewell to our lovely school leavers. They all went home with scrolls, cards and a fantastic book to remind them of their time at Humptys. Good luck to all of you. You will all be missed!
Another good day with the weather on our side!! It was lovely to see so many of our parents, children and their siblings all having so much fun!! Brilliantly organised by Emma, we ran obstacle, egg and spoon, relay and parent races to name a few!
The children were rewarded for their efforts with a bright shiny medal at the end of a fun-filled morning! Thank you to all those who came to support our sports day.
Humpty Dumpty Pre-school visited Ladyland Farm on Thursday 30th April. We were so lucky with the weather and we all had a real hands-on morning feeding the calves, sheep and goats, bumping around on the tractor ride as well as stroking the animals and holding the tiny chicks! We ended the morning with a well-earned picnic and the children let off some more steam by jumping around on the straw bales and tractors!
Hayley, one of our staff members brought her rabbit in, 'Mr Fluffy' so the children could all have a stroke and the children had lots of fun making their soft clay nests to which we added an Easter egg as a surprise for when they took them home. After such a busy week we are looking forward to our Easter holiday. Happy Easter to you all!
Our Easter peg hunt took place on Wednesday 25th March and we were very lucky with the weather! Two of our mums had pegged laminated eggs all with a different pattern all around the grounds at Whittington College. Each child had 6 to find! As always our parents came with us and we all had great fun trying to find the eggs. Typically one egg couldn't be found but with the help of all the children we finally found it! We ended the morning with a prize giving ceremony for those children who took part. We raised £158 and would like to thank those parents who supported this event.
On Monday 2nd March we were very fortunate to have Charlie Pennington,(one of our Dads) come to visit the children at Humptys! Charlie is in the Royal Marines and always having to be prepared, he brought tonnes of photos, kit and equipment to show the children! The children were mesmerized by the whole experience, asking lots of questions about the photos and having great fun trying on gas masks, jackets and helmets! What a fantastic morning! Thank you Charlie.
